Good Times

Very popular phrase nowadays but it really was a good time last night. We got together with the group that Ryan coached with a couple of years ago when he got back from school in Oregon.
That was a great football coaching staff led by Craig. Although they were working at the JV level, they were talented enough to lead at a much higher level.

The ones from that staff in this picture are clockwise from Ryan (standing at left), Craig, Sam, Nui and Chris. Also pictured are Nick (standing at right) and Brian (seated, far left)

They're all terrific young men who have a long future in coaching ahead of them where ever they may headed....

Good Luck Craig!

Surprise at Harry Potter

We saw the new Harry Potter movie yesterday with some of the Tsaikos.
I'm not a real fan of the series but Juliet really likes them.
This one was a bit confusing for me; I didn't really see the point of the movie except that it was a 2:30 minute build-up (hopefully) for something big in the next one.
The hotdog was good though.

....and we saw a poster for an upcoming movie that we thought was pretty funny.

While we were cleaning out the garage a couple of weeks back we came across "Al" the Alien from Toy Story. It was originally Ryan's toy but everyone adopted him because we all thought the character was so cool in the movie and the toy was, too. It had recordings of some of the funny lines from the movie.

So yesterday we see the poster for the upcoming Toy Story 2 in 3D. I took a picture of it and texted it to Ryan and Brent. Funny.

Pua's Birthday

What a weekend to celebrate birthdays and upcoming births!

We had brunch at Sam Choy's BLC to celebrate another birthday and, as was revealed during conversation, official confirmation of Pua's Master's degree! Yay!

Now I'm not sure how much of an effect letting one's liquor license lapse can affect operations, but the dessert selections for the buffet seemed a bit skinny from what I remember...

Nah! The fuud was really good as always: squid luau, prime rib, fried rice, lau lau, salmon, and a really good dessert assortment.

Keiki Galore!

We attended another family baby shower last night. I can't keep up with the population explosion that's happening in this family!

This one was for Juliet's cousin, Clarence and his wife Karen.

These parties are fun. I always look forward to discovering more "traditions" that get played out. Like showering the couple with rice and water? I'm sure some of these things get thought of about an hour before these parties! Haha!

Of course there was lots of FUUD!

To Ryan's chagrin, though, no lechon.

But there were lots and lots of babies!

Oh, and about some of those "traditions"?

Yeesh!

Birthday for Craig

Went to the Stutzmann's house to celebrate Craig's birthday last night.

We got to see Baylor for the first time! So glad he's doing better now.

The boys were excited about the newest version of NCAA Football coming out for XBox (and PS3 for Brent)

Good fun evening (with a surprise guest at the end!)

Family Camp!

Fourth of July weekend means Family Camp at Camp Erdman for us. This was the first time both boys brought along girlfriends. We also had "the regulars"- Juliet's sister and her cousin and their families. Sunrise to sunset activities and time to just be together. Not enough time to satisfy everyone; we all wish it could be a longer weekend but lots of good fun nonetheless.
