A New Perspective

We were at Aloha Stadium again this morning. This time though we got to see a game from a different view- the coaches box!
Ryan's team played in the first of four games there and as usual I helped him out with shooting game film. He got us field passes and so Juliet and I went up to the coaches' boxes and watched the game from there.
It was a treat for Juliet.

It was great for me because it was very easy to shoot the video from up there...and it was in the shade!

Football!

Football season is finally here in full swing!

UH Warriors escaped with a win last night. Before the game we got together with the Tsaikos again at the Cabana by the Pearl Harbor Marina. It was great to see everyone again...we had people there literally from one end of the state (Waimea, Kauai) to the other (Hilo, Big Island)


We were surprised (and a little saddened) to find out that two of our Tsaiko friends will be making a one-way trip to the mainland when they go up for the UNLV game.

midnight and Barbara will be moving to Arlington, Texas to help care for some family. We'll miss them. They are a very nice and gentle couple.

New floor

We finally decided to change the flooring in our house.


Hoku wasn't sure about what was going on.



Gee...the living room looks a lot larger now without all the stuff in it.
We chose a vinyl product called Konecto. It has a huge variety of styles including many wood looks which is what Juliet wanted.




The runway (hallway); so named because this is where the dogs will be launched, especially Beau.

We just did the living room and the hallway. The carpet in the bedrooms will be replaced later this fall.




Juliet is happy. Hoku is....still wondering what's going on.
The installers will finish up the trim work tomorrow and we'll put everything back this weekend.

Summer Fling!

One last bash before Brent heads back to McMinnville. He's had a good summer while working hard in preparation for football back at Linfield. We're going to miss having him home but are glad he's found a good school that he likes.





This time his cousin Tori will be joining him at Linfield as she starts her college career. Her boyfriend is headed to Corvallis to attend OSU.

There was lots of fuud...surprise! haha






Juliet made halohalo. No crushed ice but it was still good.



We also celebrated another nephew's birthday...Happy Birthday Alecs!

Ryan's Birthday

26 years ago on this past Thursday we welcomed our first baby!


He's a terrific young man, a great big brother and a wonderful son!

We celebrated at Hanaki Restaurant in the Manoa Marketplace. It wasn't crowded at all; in fact, they even closed early as we were the last patrons there. I suspect aside from the overall slowdown that Tsukiji Fish Market in Ala Moana is impacting their business. Still, the food is good and the staff is helpful.

It's ba-a-a-ack!

The 2 for $30 Prime Rib Special is back for the month of August at New Eagle Cafe. Heck of a deal: complete meal! Soup or salad, entree, beverage and dessert.
